Third Annual 30A Wine Festival at Alys Beach
The 3rd Annual 30A Wine Festival, a showcase of premiere wine producers and local culinary favorites, returns to Alys Beach, March 7-9, 2014.   This newly expanded three-day event features a Friday night gathering, “Bourbon, Beer, & Butts,” Saturday wine tasting seminars, a walkabout and grand tasting, a band party at nightfall, and Sunday’s exclusive event, “Pork and Pinot,” complete with croquet tournament. (Appropriate croquet attire encouraged.)

Limited tickets are available for this event. Weekend tickets are $300 per person, and the proceeds from the event benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network.

With something for everyone, the celebration begins on Friday night with “Bourbon, Beer, & Butts,” featuring music by GRAMMY award-winning musician, Sam Bush, and local favorites, Boukou Groove, and Dread Clampitt.  Guests will enjoy barbeque by Barefoot BBQ and Charlie’s Donut Truck, beer from Grayton Beer Company, Oyster City Brewing Company and Sweetwater Brewing Company, and swanky bourbon selections from Four Roses, Junior’s Midnight Moon, Wathen’s Kentucky Bourbon, and other spirit distillers.   Guests may purchase a stand alone ticket for this evening event for $50 per person.

On Saturday, the festival opens with afternoon wine seminars in the Red Loggia at Caliza Pool.  Join vintners from Broadbent Selections, Domaine Serene, and Mario Perelli-Minetti for tasting sessions with flair.   Esteemed seminar guides will share a unique experience with guests, as they lead in-depth specialty and boutique wine tastings with behind-the-scenes insights and knowledge.  Seminars will be followed by a walkabout and grand tasting through the beautiful pedestrian paths of Alys Beach, featuring more than 150 wines with food pairings from Acre, Bud and Alley’s, Caliza Restaurant, and Seagar’s.

At nightfall, the day’s festivities finish with more wine and dancing at Central Park.  With music by Cadillac Willy, this party will be the perfect ending to a day of refined indulging.  Guests may purchase a stand alone ticket for Saturday’s events for $200 per person.

A weekend festival would not be complete without Sunday brunch.  Available only to weekend ticket holders, Sunday’s “Pork and Pinot” event is yet another opportunity to sample delicious plates from Café Thirty-A paired with selected Pinots, as well as a Bloody Mary bar.   Brunch is followed by a croquet tournament on Kelly Green overlooking the Gulf where guests will revel in stunning coastal views, a leisurely sporting event, and more libations, all while raising money for Children’s Volunteer Health Network.

“The support of community leaders like Alys Beach helps us to continue to provide access to medical, dental, vision and mental health  services for children, while raising awareness about the need for adequate healthcare for uninsured and underinsured kids from low-income families,” says Zach Billingsley, CVHN Executive Director.  “We are so pleased to partner once again with Alys Beach for what is sure to be the best 30A Wine Festival yet.”
