2012 DG Festival Winners!

The clouds parted just in time for over 3,000 guests to enjoy the internationally-renowned Digital Graffiti Festival at Alys Beach on June 8 and 9th.

On both nights attendees were wowed by digital art submitted by 25 finalists from around the world as their installments were projected onto the white walls of Alys Beach.

A panel of judges including Digital Graffiti Curator, Brett Phares; Jason Eppink, Assistant Curator of Digital Media at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City; Max Watman, National Endowment for the Arts Literary Fellow and author; and Lucia Fishburne, Florida’s State Film Commissioner all judged the finalists and awarded six artists $10,000 in cash prizes.

Best of Show ($5,000) “Star Cycle #1” by Yoshi Sodeoka of New York, New York

Curator’s Choice ($1,000) “Fermata (Dive)” by Brian Patrick Franklin of Normal, IL

Florida Grown ($1,000) “Zombie Dragonfly Discotheque” by David Montgomery of Fernandina Beach, FL

Best Animation ($1,000) “Tableau Viviant” by Tomasz Wlazlak of Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland

Most Innovative ($1,000) “Neons Melody” by Jean-Michael Rolland of Paris, France

Most Experimental ($1,000) “The End” by Joel Swanson of Denver, CO

Alys Beach thanks all of the artists who submitted entries to this year’s festival, congratulates the 25 finalists and the six ultimate winners.
