Alys Beach, Florida – (November 17, 2008) – The North Pole announced today that Kristopher Kringle—more widely known as "Santa Claus"—and his lovely wife will visit Alys Beach on Saturday, December 6th. Santa's arrival happens to coincide with Alys Beach's 3rd annual "Alys in Winter Wonderland" party at Fonville Press.
"This is obviously an extremely busy time of year for the Claus family, so we were delighted to learn that they'll both be able to attend this year's Alys in Winter Wonderland party," said Kelli Arnold, the resort town's Events Coordinator.
The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. and last until 5:30 p.m. Before Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrive, party guests will decorate holiday cookies, while enjoying hot cocoa and cider. The New Gulf Coast Choir will perform Christmas carols from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m, and guests will also be given the opportunity to write their holiday "wish list" and then hand-deliver it to Mr. Claus upon his arrival.
A spokes-elf said that Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available to take photos with good little boys and girls.
The "Alys in Winter Wonderland" party is free and open to the public, although Santa encourages guests to bring a toy or canned good item to share with those who are less fortunate. Santa will give all donated items to "Caring and Sharing of South Walton," a non-profit organization dedicated to helping out those in need in our local area. Donations will be accepted at Fonville Press from now until December 14th.
