Nature Trail

Alys Beach’s boardwalk nature trail takes visitors on an 1,800-foot winding path through the most wild and untouched reaches of Alys Beach’s 20 acre nature preserve. The trail offers a secluded respite where birds, butterflies and carnivorous pitcher plants rule. While wildness prevails, hints of a human presence here come from notches in giant pine trees that mark the so-called “cat face” scars where crews collected resin from pine trees up until the mid-20th Century.
